Headed over to Times Square for the weekend....

Had lunch at the Tsuruya Japanese Restaurant....

The interior as you enter...

Headed upstairs ....all the seats above were floor seats....had to take off your shoes....

The view from our table...overlooking the Ivory house...

The bill....came with a 10% discount :) Overall, the price is reasonable. Food tasty but it tasted more chinese than japanese!

Times Square is open to the public but there are only like 5 shops opened - Tsuruya Japanese Restaurant, Mary Brown Fried Chicken, Nice Day Gift Shop, Haven Delights Restaurant and a cafe. There are also some small stalls scattered around.
Very disappointed! I hope Times Square won't be a failure....

Lunch at Smoky Jack's, Upper Penang Road

We headed to Smoky Jack's for Yee Ping's birthday lunch.....

The interior....really cool....

They had wooden branches surrounding the entire restaurant...

Alien egg shaped chairs....futuristic....

The set lunch menu...was surprisingly affordable...$15 onwards with hot buns, soup/salad, main course and dessert.

Close up on the Cordon Bleu....

Ding Ren's BBQ chicken....was yummy as well....

Shue Ping's baked chicken cheese rice....

The birthday girl's cheesy tuna pasta...was way too creamy...

Yee Ping could not finish her pasta and she stuffed it to Ding Ren....

Ding Ren being forced to finish her pasta....haha :)

Our simple fruit and cake dessert...the cake was soft and yummy...

Enjoying their dessert before heading back to work. Overall, Smoky Jack's set lunch is worth it for the ambiance. Worth the try! Dinner is more costly....$33 for a plate of pork ribs but during lunch, the pork ribs comes with starters and dessert for only $18.

Dinner at OXO Cafe, Queensbay

Had dinner at the much talkabout.....OXO cafe. The ambiance reminded me of Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. I would think the owner is a Malay and is from KL?

The logo reminded me of the famous phrase from Gossip Girls : XOXO! Haha! I have passed by many times before the opening and always thought it was a software company or an automotive company or perhaps a company related to XEROX? Hmmm.....I don't think the current logo depicts clearly as a restaurant but it has a strong appeal :)

The nice relaxing ambiance....

The interior.....

The elegant textured seat....

The pool table :)

We had the set dinner for about $17 -$18 each set and they gave us an extra 15% discount for their opening month.....so hurry now before the promotion ends!

This is the drink that came with it....it tasted like sour lime with rose syrup....not really sure....was suitable for me....not too sweet and just nice for my tastebuds.

We were then presented with buns and butter....the buns were not warm though.....hmmm....

The mushroom soup for Andrew's set....was YUMMY!

Andrew's main course, fish fillet and prawns with orange sweet sauce....was YUMMY too....cause I LURVE sweet sauce!

Andrew preparing to eat......

My salad which included some bits of raw salmon....nice!

My main dish....grilled chicken with plum sauce....was recommended on the menu....

Tasted good.....but I hate chicken with BONES....I prefer boneless chicken without the skin :) But it was tasty....

The dessert....was alright...I prefer ice cream....hehe :) I did not finish my cake because I had mouth ulcers due to the recent late night sleep....

Here's me having my cookie.... Overall, excellent fast service!!!! I guess because the boss was around and encouraging them. The ambiance was nice. They have a live band every night at 9pm. Lots of people....the crowd was good for a newly launched cafe!

I guess OXO was smart enough to utilize the food bloggers to spread the word. Everything today is related to web technology! Even OBAMA won his presidency via the web! He had help from Google's Eric Schmidt to advice him on enhancing his web traffic to his website and forums. With this he understood what the nation wanted and targeted on those request. How awesome what the web can do for us today!

Quit Bitchin'

Arggh....I have to quit bitchin' about the topic of in laws or things that make me unhappy.......My frustration has to end NOW! ....even when people are not nice or even when they are being evil and rude to me for no apparent reason.....or soon enough I will end up having cancer!

Recently, there were just studies compiled that Facebook can cause cancer and I believe that!.... especially when you post up a comment and you are being bombarded negatively online.....it does wreak up your emotions! Facebook will be phased out soon......when everyone dies from it!....hahahaha :D
